The benefits of health screening are well established. Discovering a disease in the early stages can sometimes be life saving.
For example, conditions such as cancer and cardiovascular disease can take months or years to develop before any signs or symptoms are noticed. Unfortunately, in the case of cardiovascular disease, the first symptom may be a heart attack or stroke, which is often fatal.
However, certain screening methods are able to detect signs of these diseases when there is still plenty of time to treat them. Therefore, having regular health screens could potentially save your life.
Breast Health
For women, the most commonly feared disease is Breast Cancer but the NHS is not able to commence screening for this until a woman is aged 50 when her breasts are less dense.
In the UK, it is not usual practice for a woman to be taught how to care for her breasts or find out what factors could increase her risk of breast disease. This is where the Company of Health can help, by offering Breast Health Checks, education, and Breast Thermography screening to women of all ages.
Cardiovascular Health
For men and women, a stroke or heart attack is a common fear and the general screening methods are blood pressure measurement or blood tests for cholesterol. Although these may be helpful, many people who have heart attacks have normal blood pressure and cholesterol levels. But there are other screening methods which can detect the early signs of cardiovascular disease.
The Company of Health offers Cardiovascular Health Checks using the latest tests which include Carotid Artery Screening.
A Professional Service
All our health screening services are exempt from VAT. They are delivered by experienced, Registered Nurses who have full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance, which is provided by the Royal College of Nursing.
